Apeirophobia | Oil Painting

Apeirophobia is an oil painting that came from thinking about how genuinely unsettling infinity is when you sit with it for too long. The idea that something could have no beginning, no end, and no edge is almost impossible for the human mind to fully grasp.

I wanted the figure to feel completely overwhelmed by that realization—falling through something so vast that there is nothing to hold onto, nothing to measure against, and no way of knowing where it ends. For me, the fear in this piece isn’t really about space itself. It’s about the moment your mind reaches for an answer and realizes there may not be one. It’s that dizzying feeling of trying to understand eternity, existence, and how small we are inside something that may go on forever.
