"The Room Inside Me" is an oil painting that came from the idea that there are parts of us no one else ever fully gets to see.
The figure sits alone in darkness, holding a small source of light within their chest. I wanted that light to feel both comforting and isolating—like something deeply personal that keeps you going, but also something you have to carry entirely on your own.
For me, this piece is about the fear of being trapped inside your own inner world. The thoughts, memories, emotions, and parts of yourself that can be difficult to explain to another person, even when you want desperately to be understood.
There is still light in that room. But sometimes the frightening part is realizing that you are the only person who can truly enter it.
